About Us...

Winter Public Library is located on Main Street in Winter, WI. The library was established in August of 1957 by the cooperation of the Winter Woman’s Club and the Winter Town Board. After the Village of Winter was incorporated as a municipality separate from the Town of Winter, both governments, in October of 1978, recognized and declared the Winter Public Library as the official public library of the Town and Village by resolution of their boards.

The name of the library was changed to the Ruth B. Tice Public Library in January of 1983, by resolution of both boards in recognition of the many years of service to the library by Ruth B. Tice. It was changed to the Winter Public Library in memory of Ruth B. Tice in a motion in February 2005.

Currently, the Village of Winter, Towns of Winter, Ojibwa, Draper, Meadowbrook, Radisson, and Couderay are part of a joint library agreement for the benefit of the communities.
