About the service

Meeting people where they are: at the library.

Social work is about meeting the individual where they’re at. In today’s world, that’s libraries.

Libraries are more than books. They’re places where people can find resources, use the internet, and attend library and community programs. Most important of all, they are open to everyone.

Superior Public Library collaborated with the University of Wisconsin–Superior to have a social work intern in 2022, then transitioned to having a social work consultant on staff, along with interns, to better serve patrons’ needs.

Our service is free and confidential to the public.
